I did not set out to start a nail brand. I set out to solve a problem I ran into everywhere I turned.

Like most people, I found out the hard way what salon acrylics do to the nails underneath. Framed as self-care, the filing, the drilling and the chemicals, set after set on nails that never got the chance to recover, took its toll. Mine grew thinner and weaker with every appointment, while the cost of keeping them up only climbed.

And that is without the damage from the UV lamps. Curing gel session after session with my hands directly beneath the light did not sit right with me at all. There had to be a way to look good without wearing my natural nails away.

Press-ons seemed like the obvious way out, but they were never good enough. Spending an evening filing generic tips to your size, only for the thin plastic to snap the next day, was a compromise I did not want, or deserve. I wanted nails that looked salon-made, fit properly, and did no harm. So I built something better.

Studio Gloss is the answer I could not find anywhere else. Our press-ons are made from high-quality acrylic, with a range of sizes designed to fit your nail. Our nails are more hygienic, faster, cheaper, and above all, healthier. A way to actually care about your nails.

A good set of nails changes how you feel. They are part of who you are, an easy way to carry a little more confidence through the day. To further celebrate your individuality, we introduced a personalisation feature. Detailed nail art is nearly impossible by hand and expensive to ask for in a salon. Our printing opens up designs that were never really within reach, so you can now wear your own creations and be truly unique.

I am a student of Design and Global Sustainable Development at the University of Warwick, and I could not build a brand that ignored what it leaves behind. A reusable set of press-ons replaces a cycle of disposable salon visits, with all the chemicals, waste and filing away of your own nails that comes with them. Wear them, take them off, keep them, repeat.

Our UV-free gel wraps stem from the same thinking. They are made with pre-cured gel, which means the strength and shine are already locked in during manufacture, so you get a real salon finish at home without the UV, drilling, or damage. Kinder to your nails, and kinder in the making.
